About the Maker

Every Willis Western gun rig is a bench made work of art, handcrafted by Gregg Willis. Gregg is a Colorado native and a retired police sergeant out of New Mexico, currently residing in Sagle, Idaho.

Gregg has been making holsters and other leather goods since 1971 for himself and other members of his police force. In 2012 he was trained and certified in the art and science of advanced western GUNLEATHER design and construction by the legendary John Bianchi. Willis Western was launched that same year.

Each product is crafted, one at a time, and is a one-of-a-kind piece custom made exclusively for you. Styles in the catalog, as well as rigs created from photos depicting the particular style that fits your fancy and true western character are available.

All products are made from premium quality vegetable tanned full grain cowhide, hand cut, saddle lock-stitched, and finished with the finest dyes, oils and leather dressings. They are available in plain, smooth natural leather or with western period style border stamping.

Each holster is wet molded to fit the model of your gun.  All edges are hand sanded, beveled, buffed, burnished slick and either edge coated or treated with bees wax to seal them.

About Leather – Hallmarks of the Trail

The finest natural leathers can exhibit various surface markings and texture variations caused by many factors, including climate, location and age, and can consist of healed scars, wrinkles and graining. Stamping and coloring can vary on each piece, making your rig unique.
