About the Maker<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Every WillisWestern custom cowboy SASS, police, sporting or custom gun rig is bench-made and hand crafted by Gregg Willis.  Gregg is a retired police sergeant out of New Mexico, currently residing in Sagle, Idaho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gregg had been making holsters and other leather goods since 1971 for himself and other members of his police force.  In 2012, he was trained and certified in the art and science of advanced western GUNLEATHER design and construction by the legendary John Bianchi.  WillisWestern was launched the same year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each product is hand crafted, one at a time, and custom made exclusively for you.  Styles in the Catalog as well as holsters and rigs from photos depicting the particular style that fits you are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All products are made from premium quality vegetable tanned full grained cowhide, hand cut, saddle lock stitched, and finished with the finest dyes, oils, and leather finishes.   They are available in plain, smooth western leather, or with western style border stamping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each holster is wet molded to fit the model of your gun.  All edges are hand sanded, beveled, buffed, burnished slick, and treated with an edge dressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Leather – Hallmarks of the Trail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The finest natural leathers can exhibit surface markings and texture variations caused by many factors, including climate, location, and age, and can consist of healed scars, wrinkled, and grain.  Stamping and coloring can vary on each piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leather used in these Rigs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Leather<\/strong>: I use approximately 6-7 oz Full Grain leather with 4-5 oz Full Grain lining. Suede lining is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leather color choices:<\/strong> Saddle Tan (may vary from light tan to dark tan, depending on how the hide take the oil), Mahogany, Dark Brown, or Black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All oil colors are hand rubbed, and coloring can vary on each leather product. There may also be variances due to characteristics of the leather grain, minor blemishes, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
